Why choose Urban Shutters?
Custom made
Your shutters will be custom made in the UK to your exact specifications. We offer a full measuring and fitting service. They are designed to give an elegant appearance that will not chip, crack or peel.
Quick turnaround
At 4 weeks, Urban Shutters are up to 3 times quicker than wooden shutters from China. They are also up to 40% cheaper.
Stay looking good
Urban shutters are durable and ideal for today's busy lifestyle. They will never require painting or staining. Everyday scratches and dents do not affect the finish or colour and minor scratches can simply be sanded out. Individual louvres can even be replaced by snapping out the old louvre and clipping in a new one.
Outstanding strength
The operating system uses louvrelink connectors which are hardwearing and allow the louvres to turn fully in both directions.
Water-resistant
Urban shutters resist the damaging effects of moisture, making them the perfect choice for wet or humid environments such as kitchens and bathrooms.
Choice of style
Choose from either 63mm, 76mm or 89mm louvre sizes, allowing you to create your perfect look.
Insulation and noise reduction
Urban shutters reduce outside noise and keep heating and air conditioning costs down due to the robust cell structure of both the frames and the louvres.
Safe
With no cords, these shutters are child safe. They are also flame retardant.

Full Height
Easily the most popular, full height shutters offer the most coverage with the flexibility of turning the louvres. The louvres can be split in one of two ways to create extra light filtration options. These options are called Mid rail and Split location. See below.
Tier On Tier
This option of having two panels in one frame, one on top of another is another way of creating flexibility. Because there is a large solid space in the middle of the window we only recommend this option on window drops above 1600mm.
Cafe Style
Cafe Style is usually a half height shutter for privacy only. The cafe height is most commonly dependant on the height of the break in the window.

Full Height with Mid Rail
A solid divider rail usually placed in line with your windows. This creates separately turning louvres above and below the mid rail.
Full Height with Split Location
Incorporating the idea of separately turning louvres but with no mid rail to create added flexibility of light filtration.

Shutters with Concealed Tilt
Concealed tilt creates a cleaner look from the inside. The louvres are operated by turning a single louvre by hand and then all the others in that line follow suit.
Shutters with Front Tilt Bar
The front tilt bar is used to turn the louvres simply by pulling the bar up or down.
